An air battery (B1) of the present invention has a negative electrode assembly (30) and a positive electrode assembly (40) having a porous positive electrode layer (41), which are provided on mutually opposite sides of an electrolyte layer (beta). The air battery (B1) has a conductive positive electrode support plate (42) which supports the porous positive electrode layer (41) and on which a ventilation region is formed. The porous positive electrode layer (41) covers the ventilation region, extends to a non-ventilation region outside the ventilation region, and has a dense portion (41a) formed in the outer edge portion facing the non-ventilation region.
