The invention described herein includes a method of selecting a treatment regimen for a surface of a mammalian keratinized tissue that includes illuminating the surface with a light source emitting long 5 wave UV light, thereby identifying at least one impaired region on the surface; categorizing the impaired region on the basis of its approximate UV perceptible color when exposed to the light source into at least one of a first category, a second category and a third category, wherein the approximate color substantially corresponds to a deficiency of the surface; and applying to the keratinized surface at least one treatment composition, wherein the 10 at least one treatment composition is formulated to treat, ameliorate or improve the deficiency in the surface. |
