Provided is an image processing device having a function of generating a template used for searching for an object in an input image. The image processing device comprises: a first image acquiring unit for acquiring a first input image including said object; a second image acquiring unit for acquiring a second input image which includes said object and in which the intra-image position information of said object is known; a template candidate setting unit for dividing a candidate region into a plurality of small regions and setting a plurality of rectangular template candidates consisting of a single small region or a plurality of small regions adjacent to each other, the candidate region being set in said first input image so that said object is included; a calculation unit for, in the said second input image, executing a search process for searching for said object by using each of the template candidates and, based on the execution results of the search process, calculating the search accuracy of each of the template candidates; and a generation unit for, based on the search accuracy and the size of each of the template candidates, selecting a plurality of partial templates from said plurality of template candidates and generating a set of the selected partial templates as said template. |
