PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent reduction of the intensity of infrared incident to a multiple quantum well and improve sensitivity of a photodetector.SOLUTION: A photodetector 10 includes a substrate 16 which is not doped with impurities, a quantum well structure 15 that includes a quantum well layer and a barrier layer that extend perpendicularly to the substrate 16, and a pair of electrode layers 17a and 17b that sandwiches the quantum well structure 15 in a direction horizontal to the substrate 16. |
