PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a retardation film having excellent stretching property, and capable of achieving superior orientation property.SOLUTION: In a manufacturing method of a retardation film, a long resin film 31 is stretched in width direction while being conveyed in a longer direction, so as to obtain a retardation film 30 satisfying a relation of 0.70<Re(450)/Re(550)<0.97. The manufacturing method includes: a preheating step of heating the resin film 31 up to a temperature T1; a preliminary stretching step of stretching the resin film 31 after the preheating, while cooling the resin film 31 down to a temperature T2; and a main stretching step. |
