PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clasp for an ornamental string member, a clasp being adaptable to ornamental string members of various outer diameters for use by means of an elastic body having one kind of inside diameter. SOLUTION: The clasp includes: an outer shell of a metallic hollow cylindrical shape in which a hole is formed in both ends; and an elastic body having through holes and built in the outer shell in a state in which the through holes are in communication with the holes of the outer shell. The periphery of an ornamental string member inserted in the holes of the outer shell and in the through holes of the elastic body is held by a resilience of the elastic body. In this clasp, a recessed groove is formed on the outer periphery of the outer shell in a manner protruding into the outer shell, the elastic body is pressured by the protruding part of the recessed groove. As a result, the inside diameter of the through holes of the elastic body is made smaller in the portion pressured by the protruding part than in the portion unpressured by the protruding part.
