摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of enlarging a range where focus adjustment in a photographic screen can be performed while minimizing the number of phase difference detecting pixels provided in a solid-state imaging element. <P>SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: a CCD having an AF sensor for detecting a phase difference; and a camera-shake correction means. The imaging apparatus obtains an object detection range arbitrarily set on the photographic screen (object detection range in which a photographer considers that the photographer desires to focus the object in the screen) (step S40), and determines whether or not the AF sensor is present in the object detection range (step S42). When the AF sensor is not present in the object detection range, the imaging apparatus calculates a difference (vector) between the object detection range and the AF sensor (step S46), and moves the CCD based on the calculated result so that the AF sensor enters the object detection range (step S48).
