The present invention relates to a dual-energy x-ray imaging apparatus and a method for controlling the same. The dual-energy x-ray imaging apparatus performs accurate diagnosis by obtaining an accurate X-ray image including the property of an object. To obtain the X-ray image, the quantity and intensity of second energy are controlled by using the bright information of the X-ray image of first energy on the object when a dual-energy x-ray image is obtained by the sequential irradiation of the first energy of the X-ray and the second energy of the X-ray.
