Dry biomass fermenter with continuous feeding of biomass substrate and continuous removal of the fermented biomass substrate, comprises a gas-tight fermenter vessel (2) at its inlet (21), a first conveyor screw connected with a first gas-tight pusher (31), by means of which the biomass substrate can be introduced from above into the fermenter vessel and a second conveyor with a second gas-tight pusher (41), over which the fermented substrate at the bottom side fermenter vessel is removed. A paddle agitator in the middle of the fermenter vessel is mounted horizontally. The second conveyor means is a conveying screw, which is arranged near the lowest point towards the bottom and is connected with a separator for separating the fermented biomass substrate into percolate and solids. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for producing percolate from biomass substrate, introducing the biomass substrate semi-continuously or continuously to the inlet of the fermenter vessel and inoculating with percolate and/or slurry or an another material, which contains microbes suitable for initiating the acidification process and then further moving continuously into the fermenter vessel and thus converting to percolate and removing the percolate on the discharge side of the fermenter container. |
