A component includes a micro hologram layer (10) and the hologram layer (10) includes functional film layer (12) and a layer (14) which is inactive to interleaved lights. The functional film layer (12) is made of materials of which the refractive index is changed when being irradiated by light beams and of which the refractive index is not changed when being irradiated by other light beams. To form a data storage device (100), the component (30) may include elements which are different from interleaved spacer layer (20) and multi-micro hologram layer (10) such as a servo layer (44), a coating (48) and another (40, 42). The component and a method for manufacturing the device are disclosed. |
