The technique for reconstruction of colon following left-side subtotal colectomy comprises the median laparotomy, the separation and partial resection of rectum, sigmoid colon, left half of colon, transverse colon with hepatic angle and D-2 lymph nodes. In addition, appendectomy is performed, the right half of the colon is mobilized, ileum is dissected from cecum, ileoascendo- and cecorectoanastomosis are fashioned in antiperistalsis mode relative to colon. |
