The present invention relates to an apparatus for processing materials. The invention comprises a transfer roller, a removing unit, and a processing unit. The transfer roller is installed between a roughing mill and a finishing mill to transfer the materials. The removing unit is separately placed from one direction of the transfer roller to remove defective materials to the other side of the transfer roller when the materials return to the transfer roller as the materials processed by the finishing mill are defective. The processing unit cut the defective materials into the shorter length than the length of the transfer roller. The invention is capable of quickly processing the materials without damage to equipment due to the defective materials.
