Provided is a method for affixing a button in which a pin of a button-affixing member can be set to be relatively short. A button (10) comprises a shell member (11) and a core member (20) capable of joining with the shell member (11) when the button (10) is affixed to a fabric (1) using a button-affixing member (30). The button-affixing member (30) includes a plurality of pins (32). In the method, first, the core member (20) is incompletely joined to the shell member (11) to form the button (10) in a temporarily assembled state. The pins (32) on the button-affixing member (30) are subsequently made to penetrate the fabric (1) and then the bottom part (13) of the shell member (11). The core member (20) in the button (10), which is in a temporarily assembled state, is thereafter caused to be completely joined with the shell member (11) to form the button (10) in a completed state and to cause the pins (32) on the button-affixing member (30) to be plastically deformed by the core member (20), which displaces from the temporarily assembled state to the completely assembled state in relation to the shell member (11).
