PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce stress to be applied during operation.SOLUTION: A piston (10) for an internal combustion engine includes a piston top (11), an annular flame web (12), an annular ring part (13) having a ring groove (14), and a piston skirt (15). The piston skirt includes two skirt walls (16, 17) arranged on the thrust side (DS) and anti-thrust side (GDS) of the piston (10) and two box walls (18, 19) retreated against the ring part (13) to combine the skirt walls, and each of the box walls includes a pin boss (21) having a boss hole (22). In a constitution of this invention for the piston of this form, the skirt wall (16) arranged on the thrust side (DS) is shorter than the skirt wall (17) arranged on the anti-thrust side (GDS) in a circumferential direction of the piston (10). |
