A disposable absorbent product (10) includes a topsheet (12) defining an interior face of the disposable absorbent product configured to face a wearer thereof during use. A backsheet (14) overlays the topsheet (12), with the backsheet (14) defining an exterior face of the disposable absorbent product (10) configured to face away from the wearer during use. An absorbent core (16) is disposed between the topsheet (12) and the backsheet (14) for storing fluid secreted by the wearer of the disposable absorbent product (10). The absorbent core (16) includes at least one absorbent structure (16a, 16b) and a wrapping element (26) that envelops the at least one absorbent structure (16a, 16b). The wrapping element (26) has a main substrate layer (29) and an adhesive coating layer (30) thereon that is substantially adhered to the main substrate layer (29) and which defines an impermeable film layer on the main substrate layer (29). |
