A method for applying handwriting inputting and a mobile terminal using the same are provided to recognize the handwriting effectively in a touch screen included in the mobile terminal by using an exclusive handwriting recognition mode. A touch screen(16) is equipped with a plurality of handwriting recognition areas for receiving handwriting through an exclusive recognition mode. A controller(20) outputs information of the exclusive recognition mode corresponding to the handwriting received through the touch screen. The different exclusive handwriting recognition mode is set to each handwriting recognition area. The exclusive handwriting recognition mode is determined by the exclusive handwriting recognition mode of the handwriting recognition area including a starting point of handwriting input. The controller outputs recommended information in addition to the output information through the touch screen, and replaces the output information with the selected information when one of the recommended information is selected. |
