PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk storage device capable of surely protecting data recorded on a track in the case where drift-off write occurs during a shingled write operation.SOLUTION: According to this embodiment, a disk storage device includes a head for writing data on a disk, a storage device, a write module, and a controller. The storage device has a storage area for temporarily storing data written by the head. The write module controls a write operation for overwriting data on a portion of a track adjacent to a track group on the disk. The controller detects the occurrence of drift-off write of the head during the write operation, determines the range of the drift-off write, and executes processing for securing the written data stored in the storage area as a protection object in the case where the written data is included within the range of the drift-off write. |
