Device uses an optical fiber for measurement of forces, distances or spring temper. The device comprises a light source, photo-resistance and a voltmeter. The application of a force causes bending of the optical fiber which lowers the light intensity transported by the fiber, which increases the photo-resistance and a voltage across it. The increase in voltage is related to the force applied.
