The needle is provided with a slot (37 Fig. 4 not shown) in its shank to allow the yarn to pass to the needle eye. The disc tensioner 27 is mounted on the underside of a lid 26 pivoted at 24 to the top of the machine arm 3 and held open by a strut 25. A thread spool 21 is carried on a holder 22 secured to the exterior of the arm 3. |
