The invention relates to a disc filter for separating off liquids from a suspension (1), in particular a fibre suspension, having a container (2) for receiving the suspension (1), a hollow shaft (4) that is horizontally extending in the container (2) and is mounted so as to be rotatable, a plurality of liquid-permeable filter discs (3) that are spaced apart axially from one another and are fastened vertically on the hollow shaft (4), the interior of which filter discs is connected to the hollow shaft (4), at least one inlet (5) for the suspension (1) and matter outlets (6) arranged between the filter discs (3). The possible material density of the suspension (1) that is to be treated should be increased in that the suspension (1) is introduced via one or more inlets (5) into the suspension (1) of the container (2) at an inflow velocity of greater than 1.5 m/s and/or a part of the suspension (1) is removed via one or more outlets (9) of the container (2) and returned back to the container (2) via one or more inlets (5). |
