The present invention relates to an indoor unit for an air conditioner and more specifically, to an indoor unit for an air conditioner to which a mixed flow fan is applied having improved structure of inlet and outlet. The indoor unit for an air conditioner according to the present invention includes a panel to form the outer shape; a mixed flow fan on the inner side of the panel; a heat exchanger unit in the rear side of the mixed flow fan; an inlet in the rear side of the heat exchanger unit to allow air to flow into the mixed flow fan from the rear side of the heat exchanger unit; and an outlet in the front side of the panel to allow the air which has passed through the mixed flow fan to flow out through the front surface of the panel. The indoor unit for an air conditioner according to the present invention improves flow efficiency inside an indoor unit and reduces noise by improving air intake and discharge structures; and reduces the size of an air conditioner using the arrangement of a mixed flow fan and a heat exchanger.
