1276259 Hangers for slidable doors F HICKSON 9 July 1970 33303/70 Heading E1J A hanger for a sliding door leaf comprises a bracket 11, and adapted for adjustable securement as by the bolt 19 and nuts 20 in an inverted-U-shaped member 10 fixable to the top of the leaf, and a wheel 14 or wheels, adapted to engage a supporting rail 21 and each having a cylindrical aperture whereby it is rotatably mounted on a stub axle 12 projecting from the bracket 11, the bracket and hence the leaf being movable perpendicularly to the plane of rotation of the wheel by the stub axle sliding axially of the wheel in the aperture. The wheel 14 is captively mounted on the stub axle 12. Two such hangers are used in conjunction with a resilient steel guide 29, Fig. 5, attached to the top of the support rail so as to engage a wheel 28 rotatable in a horizontal plane secured on the top of the leaf, so that on contact with the guide 29 it is pushed towards the door aperture to move the leaf into close contact with the aperture surround. At the bottom of the door, second guide means as claimed in Specification 1197941 and 1247945 may be provided. Two further wheels 23, 24 bear against structure above the door opening and maintain the leaf spaced away from the opening during opening and closing movement of the leaf, and cooperate with respective recesses 25, 26 to allow the leaf to move to its final closed position. |
