The present invention relates to an apparatus for automatically assessing the degree of visual discomfort or visual fatigue with respect to a stereoscopic image or a stereoscopic video by means of image analysis, and for visualizing and displaying a problematic area within an image that causes visual fatigue. To this end, the apparatus for visualizing visual fatigue in the 3D stereoscopic image, according to one embodiment of the present invention: detects from the 3D stereoscopic image which is being captured or has been captured a visually important area; calculates visual discomfort with respect to the entire image and outputs same as a quantified score; and generates and outputs a visual discomfort map which displays the degree of visual discomfort of smaller areas in the image. |
