Composition comprises (a) sucrose, and (b) at least one of the glycemic index of the composition reducing substance (GIVS). An independent claim is included for preparing the composition, comprising either preparing a mixture comprising the sucrose, the GIVS, optionally at least one substance comprising antioxidants, flavors and flavoring agents, sweeteners, and/or optionally at least one further ingredients and/or adjuvant, and optionally producing a granulate and/or agglomerate, or the preparing step as per above se, and manufacturing compacts, preferably tablets and/or pills by pressing and/or tableting, or the preparing step as per above se, and applying and/or immobilizing the substance(s) to a solid carrier based on sucrose, by granulation (preferred), agglomeration, pelleting or coating, where the granulation includes fluidized bed granulation, dry granulation or spray granulation.
