The purpose of the present invention is to provide a long arc type metal-halide lamp which improves lamp illumination intensity by increasing gallium within a light emitting pipe and realizes a desire uniformity ratio of illumination at the same time. The long arc type metal-halide lamp dries and hardens ultraviolet-curable ink, paint, or glue. The light emitting pipe is filled with mercury, noble gas, and gallium iodide. An arc length La of the light emitting pipe is in a rage of 500<=La<=3000 mm. The Ga(mg/cc)/Hg(mg/cc) which is a ratio of metal gallium amounts and mercury amounts included in the gallium iodide is in a range of 3.0E-03<=Ga(mg/cc)/Hg(mg/cc)<=2.5E-02.
