PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent leakage of a fluid from a cutoff valve.SOLUTION: A braking force generation device comprises: a motor cylinder device for letting an electric actuator to generate fluid pressure according to operation of a brake pedal by a driver; a master cylinder for generating liquid pressure according to operation of the pedal; a pressure sensor for detecting the liquid pressure generated by the master cylinder; a cutoff valve arranged between liquid-pressure electrical generating means and the master cylinder; and an arithmetic device 201 for controlling the liquid pressure generated by the liquid-pressure electrical generating means. The arithmetic device 201, if liquid pressure required by the driver is no less than a predetermined pressure, controls the motor cylinder device so that the liquid pressure generated by the liquid-pressure electrical generating means and the liquid pressure generated by the master cylinder are no less than lower limit based on the liquid pressure generated by the master cylinder and a valve-closed guaranteed differential pressure across the cutoff valve. |
