WET ELECTROSTATIC PRECIPITATOR AND DUST REMOVING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wet electrostatic precipitator and a method for removing dust, having improved removal performance of SOmist with a more simple device.SOLUTION: There is provided a wet electrostatic precipitator for removing a low concentration SOmist and dust contained in gas, which has an electric field forming part comprising a plurality of discharge electrodes 18 on an opposing surface of a first electrode 14 and a second electrode 15 for forming a DC electric field. The discharge electrodes 18 of the first electrode 14 and the discharge electrodes 18 of the second electrode 15 generate corona discharge having reverse polarity, respectively. The gas containing SOmist and dust is guided to the electric field forming part so that the SOmist and dust are not charged and a dielectric is not sprayed and an electric charge having reverse polarity is alternately applied to the SOmist and dust by corona discharge while gas is made to pass between the electrodes 14 and 15. The first electrode 14 and the second electrode 15 collect the charged SOmist and dust.
