PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical component that can be reduced in size and is not required for exchange when characteristics are varied.SOLUTION: An optical component 1 includes a multicore optical fiber 10 and input/output optical fibers 21, 22. The multicore optical fiber 10 includes cores 11, 12 extending in a longitudinal direction within a common cladding 17. On an end face of the multicore optical fiber 10, the cores 11, 12 are disposed on a perimeter of a circle centering the fiber axis. Both end faces of the multicore optical fiber 10 are connected to each other to optically connect the cores 11 and 12 of the multicore optical fiber 10. Both end faces of the multicore optical fiber 10 are relatively rotatable around the fiber axis. |
