PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbonization apparatus and a carbonization method in which improvement of heat efficiency or the like can be performed.SOLUTION: A carbonization apparatus 100 includes: a carbonization furnace 110 that includes a fluid bed in which a heat exchanger tube 150a that passes a heating medium is installed, and in which a raw material of an organic material is fluidized by fluidization gas and is performed by direct heating by heat of the gas, and is performed by indirect heating by heat of the heating medium through the heat exchanger tube 150, thereby the raw material is performed by carbonization to generate a carbonization product material of carbonization gas and solid; a raw material input port 160 that is disposed at one side face of the carbonization furnace 110, and in which the raw material is input to the carbonization furnace; and a carbonization product material discharge port 170 that is disposed at a part countering the fluid bed in the other side face of the carbonization furnace 110, and in which the raw material performed by carbonization is discharged. |
