PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television receiver which can receive monitoring service with easy operation.SOLUTION: A process executed by a processor of a television receiver includes: a step (S410) of detecting that a power source of the television receiver is turned on; a step (S430) of receiving an input of set-up (set-up for going out) indicating that an inhabitant is out; a step (S440) of transmitting a signal (an absence signal) indicating that the set-up for going out is effected to a server connected to the television receiver; a step (S450) for detecting that the power source of the television receiver is turned off; and a step (S480) of transmitting an in-home signal indicating that the inhabitant is in home when the time required from the power-off to the power-on is longer than a predetermined time after the power source is turned on later.
