PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a confocal light generation lens unit capable of simply obtaining confocal light by using a device including a normal optical system, without preparing an exclusive device.SOLUTION: A lens unit 1A includes a cylindrical housing 10 and a confocal light generation part 20 arranged along an optical axis A in the housing 10. The confocal light generation part 20 includes an objective lens 21 receiving light to be observed L1, an imaging lens 22 imaging the light to be observed L1, a pinhole member 23 having a pinhole 25a allowing the imaged light to be observed L1 to pass through, and an output lens 24 emitting the light to be observed L1 after passing through the pinhole 25a as confocal light L2.
