摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical communication method, an optical transmitter, an optical receiver, a signal separation circuit, and an optical communication system, capable of achieving rearrangement of an optical signal without causing a disconnection of communication.SOLUTION: The optical communication method that transmits an optical signal in optical frequency regions laid out in a frequency axis includes: a first duplication transmission step that generates a copy optical signal modulated with data that is the same as an original optical signal being currently transmitted in a first optical frequency region in a retreat optical frequency region that is not used by other optical signals and transmits the copy optical signal as well as the original optical signal; a second duplication transmission step that, after stopping the transmission of the original optical signal, generates a rearrangement optical signal modulated with data that is the same as the copy optical signal in a desired second optical frequency region that is not used by other optical signals and transmits the rearrangement optical signal as well as the copy optical signal; and a rearrangement completion step that stops the transmission of the copy optical signal.
