PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crystal of a benzimidazole compound which is an anti-ulcer agent with excellent stability and absorptivity.SOLUTION: A crystal of this invention is an anhydride crystal of (R)-2-[[[3-methyl-4-(2,2,2-trifluoro-ethoxy)-2-pyridinyl]methyl]sulfinyl]-1H-benzimidazole-((R)-lansoprazole) having a powder X-ray diffraction pattern of which the characteristic peaks appear at 10.06±0.2, 8.70±0.2, 6.57±0.2, 5.59±0.2, 4.00±0.2 angstroms of lattice spacing (d) of powder X-ray diffraction. And a method for producing the anhydride crystal comprises heating a solvate crystal of the (R)-lansoprazole or amorphous (R)-lansoprazole at 71 to about 140°C to obtain the anhydride crystal. |
