METHOD FOR REMOVING CESIUM FROM SOIL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing cesium from soil, in which cesium is removed from the soil at a low cost and in high efficiency so that the cesium-removed soil can be reused.SOLUTION: The method for removing cesium from soil comprises: an addition step (1) of adding sodium chloride of 5-10 mass% of the total mass of the cesium-containing soil to the cesium-containing soil; a heating step (2) of heating the sodium chloride-added soil at 800-1,200°C for 30-120 minutes to volatilize the cesium therefrom; a recovery step (3) of recovering the cesium volatilized from the soil at the heating step; and a desalination step (4) of removing the added sodium chloride from the resulting soil.
