摘要 <p>An organic photovoltaic device (100) having high light in-coupling efficiency is provided. The photovoltaic device (100) includes a transparent substrate (300) having a refractive index-matching layer of silica nanowires (200) positioned on a side of the transparent substrate facing an ambient environment. The refractive index-matching layer of silica nanowires is an array of silica nanowires having a length from 100 nm to 200 nm and a diameter on the order of 30 nm to 50 nm. An organic photovoltaic material 400 is positioned on the side of the transparent substrate opposite to the side of the transparent substrate with the silica nanowires positioned thereon. For optimal control of silica wire morphology, a glancing angle deposition technique (GLAD) is used to form the silica nanowires.</p>
