摘要 Provided is a zeolite catalyst that, when producing lower olefins from a low-boiling-point hydrocarbon starting material such as light naphtha, can cause the reaction to proceed at as low a temperature as possible and cause the yield of propylene with respect to ethylene as the lower olefins to be high, and furthermore has a long life. The zeolite catalyst is used when producing lower olefins from a low-boiling-point hydrocarbon starting material such as light naphtha. The zeolite catalyst is a crystalline aluminosilicate having an MFI structure containing the element iron, and has a composition ratio in the number of moles of the element iron with respect to the total number of moles of the element iron and the element aluminum to be in the range of 0.4 to 0.7. By means of this zeolite catalyst, it is possible to increase the yield of propylene, decrease the reaction temperature, and lengthen catalyst life.
