PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an RFID tag that realizes a longer communication distance than a case using a small RFID tag singly, can be mounted easily and has excellent reliability and a high degree of freedom of a mounting location and a mounting shape, and to provide an automatic recognition system.SOLUTION: An RFID tag is formed with a substantially rectangular solid RFID tag package and a conductor arranged in the periphery of the RFID tag package. The RFID tag package includes an IC chip, an antenna connected to the IC chip and forming an electrically closed circuit and a sealant sealing the IC chip and the antenna. The length of all the sides of the RFID tag package is 1/50 or less of an operating wavelength of the IC chip. The antenna of the RFID tag package is formed on a substantially flat surface and is a coil wound in a substantially quadrilateral shape. The extending direction of one side including the outermost terminal of the coil is substantially parallel to the extending direction of the conductor. The RFID tag package is disposed in the vicinity of an end of the conductor. There is also provided an automatic recognition system using the RFID tag. |
