PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stator for a rotary electric machine which can reduce a cost of winding work of a coil by facilitating the winding work, and also can improve an insulation function between the coil and a metal member at the inside in a radial direction of the coil.SOLUTION: The stator for a rotary electric machine which has a yoke 1, a plurality of teeth 2, a plurality of bobbin-shaped insulators 3 and a plurality of windings 4 further comprises a cylindrical insulator 51 arranged at one side in an axial direction of the yoke 1. The bobbin-shaped insulator 3 has a flange part 32 which protrudes to at least both sides in a circumferential direction and one side in the axial direction at an inside end part in the radial direction. A portion 321 at one side in the axial direction of the flange part 32 forms one recessed window part 321a forming one side in the axial direction to be an open side, and also is radially overlapped on the cylindrical insulator 51 through a gap A.
