PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protein carrier showing a high immobilization amount of protein with respect to a plurality of protein having different sizes.SOLUTION: A protein carrier has a mesoporous structure in which a half-width of pore diameter distribution obtained from nitrogen adsorption isotherm by BJH method is 10 to 30 nm, and whose main component is metal oxide. The metal oxide is at least one type selected from silicon oxide, titanium oxide, zirconium oxide, aluminum oxide, tantalum oxide, niobium oxide, cerium oxide and tin oxide.
