An illumination device (10) is provided with the following: light sources (11); a light-guide member (12 (13)) that includes a light-entering region (Is) and a light-emitting region (Os) which emits planar light; light-entering sections (13a) that are formed in the light-entering region (Is) and that oppose the light sources (11); and emission line suppression parts (20) that are formed in the areas between the light-entering sections (13a) at the front side of the light-entering region (Is), and that include emission line suppression prisms (21) which have a shape that changes the angle of the light emitted in a direction spreading out from the light sources (11) to a direction closer to the optical axes.
