The present invention relates to a visible light communication system for ship and, more specifically, a visible light communication system for ship using a power line modem, which is capable of performing communication in the ship using the power line modem, thereby reducing costs in building the ship and facilitating maintenance. To this end, the present invention provides a visible light communication system for ship using a power line modem comprises: data collection devices configured to collect and transmit status signals; a management server configured to receive the status signals and transmit a control signal; a master modem connected between the management server and a power line, converting the control signal into a power line signal form, transmitting the control signal through the power line, receiving the status signals of the power line signal form transmitted through the power line, restoring the status signals to original signals, and transmitting the original signals to the management server; lighting devices configured to perform visible light communication with the data collection devices, respectively, to transmit the status signals to the management server and to perform power line communication with the management server to transmit the control signal to the data collecting devices; and slave modems connected between the lighting devices and the power line, converting the status signals into the power line signal form, transmitting the status signals through the power line, receiving the control signal of the power line signal form transmitted through the power line, restoring the control signal to an original control signal, and transmitting the original control signal to the lighting devices.
