Converting alcohol into fuel mixture comprising alcohol, ether and water, suitable for operating an internal combustion engine (5) of a motor vehicle, in a reactor (3), is claimed. The mixing ratio of alcohol, ether and water in the fuel mixture is adjusted by controlling at least one reaction parameter of a reaction occurring in the reactor. An independent claim is also included for a device comprising the reactor for converting the heated alcohol into fuel mixture using a heating device (2), and a control device (10) for adjusting the heating of the alcohol in the heating device and/or the pressure in the reactor depending on the reaction parameters of the reaction occurring in the reactor and/or depending on the operating parameters of the internal combustion engine. |
