PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-based foamable fireproofing paint having excellent storage stability and forming a foamed and carbonized layer having sufficient foamability, strength, etc., in fire hazard to exhibit excellent fireproofing performance. SOLUTION: The fireproofing paint contains (A) a synthetic resin emulsion, (B) a phosphorus compound, (C) a polyhydric alcohol and (D) an anionic dispersion agent having a polyoxyalkylene chain as essential components. The paint contains 50-2,000 pts.wt. of the phosphorus compound (B), 5-600 pts.wt. of the polyhydric alcohol (C) and 0.1-50 pts.wt. of the anionic dispersion agent (D) based on 100 pts.wt. of the solid component of the synthetic resin emulsion (A).
