The present invention relates to a system and a method for managing a waste refrigerant. The method comprises the steps that a refrigerant treatment management server receives, from a refrigerant collection information gathering device, refrigerant collection information including retrieval container identification information; the refrigerant treatment management server receives, from a refrigerant treatment information gathering device, refrigerant treatment information including the retrieval container identification information; the refrigerant treatment management server stores the refrigerant collection information and the refrigerant treatment information in a refrigerant information DB; and that the refrigerant treatment management server generates refrigerant treatment detail information based on the refrigerant collection information and the refrigerant treatment information to be provided to the refrigerant collection information gathering device and the refrigerant treatment information gathering device.
