This conductive optical element is provided with: a base; a plurality of structures that are supported by the base and arranged at a pitch of the wavelength of visible light or less; and a transparent conductive layer that is provided on the front surface side of the structures and has a shape that follows the surface profiles of the structures. The respective refractive indexes (x) and aspect ratios (y) of the plurality of structures satisfy the following relational expressions: y >= -1.785x + 3.238 and y <= 0.686.
