PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition and a method for an improved vaccine, particularly a vaccine exhibiting consistency among lots, preventing contamination of an unnecessary contaminant or a contaminant having an unknown structure, allowing efficient production at an industrial scale, and beneficially comprising an adjuvant component with high purity and a chemically apparent constitution.SOLUTION: Provided are a composition comprising a vaccine for inducing or enhancing immunoresponse, on the basis of a finding of useful immunoadjuvant properties in synthetic glucopyranosyl lipid adjuvant (GLA) provided in substantially homogeneous form, and a pharmaceutical composition; and a method. The synthetic GLA with a chemically apparent constitution brings a vaccine component consistent among lots without causing a contaminant damaging a natural adjuvant and variation of activity. In addition, the vaccine and the pharmaceutical composition comprise GLA, one or more kinds of antigens, a toll-like receptor (TLR) agonist, a co-adjuvant, and a carrier like a pharmaceutical carrier. |
