The method involves operating the two master brake cylinders (4) and wheel brake cylinders (20,22) by brake pedal (6) in An electronic stability control (ESC) system (14). The ESC system is provided with a control unit and a foreign power supply with a hydro pump (30). The braking pressure in the wheel brake cylinders is generated in the ESC system. The pressure by the ESC system is increased to provide an increased brake pressure at volume depletion in main brake cylinder.
