PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element holding mechanism able to hold an optical element without deforming it, and to provide a laser scanning optical device with the optical element holding mechanism, an image forming apparatus with laser scanning optical device, and an optical element holding method for the optical element holding mechanism.SOLUTION: An optical element holding mechanism comprises: a support pin 63 supporting an optical element 62 in a holding position; an adjustment pin 66 able to be held in the state of being retracted from the optical element 62, and configured to adjust the held position of the optical element 62 by moving in the direction in which the adjustment pin 66 comes into contact with the optical element 62 supported by the support pin 63, from the retracted state; and a second pressing pin 68 able to be held opposite the adjustment pin 66 with the optical element 62 between them and in the state of being retracted from the optical element 62, and configured to press the optical element 62 by moving in the direction in which the second pressing pin 68 comes into contact with the optical element 62 whose held position is adjusted by the adjustment pin 66, from the retracted state. |
