Generating biogas in a biogas plant (1), comprises fermenting biomasses as organic substrates (5) in a fermenter tank (2) of the biogas plant, by irradiating at least a part of the organic substrate by at least one irradiation device having a high-frequency energy with a high-frequency signal of 100-200 MHz, which is modulated with a low frequency signal of 1-1000 Hz, to produce biogas. The fermentation is performed in an anaerobic-, continuous single-stage wet anaerobic fermentation process.
