PURPOSE: A compression ratio variable apparatus is provided to control the distance of the stroke travel in which a piston is vertically driven by increasing the top dead point of piston and decreasing the bottom dead center, thereby further facilitating the output control of engine. CONSTITUTION: A compression ratio variable apparatus includes an eccentric member, a connecting rod (120), and a control unit. The eccentric member is coupled to the crank pin of crank shaft (20), but is coupled so that the position of center of rotation is eccentric based on the center of rotation of the crank pin. The lower portion of connecting rod is rotatably coupled to the eccentric member, and connects with a piston (10). The control unit is selectively coupled so that the eccentric member and the crank pin or the eccentric member and the connecting rod are integrally rotated each other. The control unit controls the radius of gyration in which the lower end of connecting rod rotates about the center of rotation of the crank shaft by moving the center of rotation of the eccentric member based on the center of rotation of the crank pin. |
